Job description

As an accountant, you will be responsible for compliance and accurate A-to-Y accounting for three of the group companies (out of a total of six), with the potential to grow into A-to-Z accounting for these entities. You will work in a team and provide backup support for a colleague accountant who manages the other three companies. You will report directly to the Chief Accountant.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely registration and processing of incoming invoices via OCR for your assigned entities.
  • Monitoring customer balances for your assigned entities.
  • Recording and tracking investment projects for your assigned entities.
  • Preparing monthly and year-end closures for your assigned entities within the group, supporting the final closure by the Chief Accountant.
  • Timely delivery of various statutory obligations for both Belgian and international entities (such as VAT, Intrastat, surveys, etc.).
  • In collaboration with the colleague accountant, preparing and drafting consolidation.
  • Maintaining an accounting manual.
  • Actively seeking and implementing process optimizations.
  • Being the point of contact for accounting questions within the group for your assigned entities.
  • Supporting various administrative tasks within the finance department.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks related to the finance department.

What we expect from you

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience as an accountant.
  • Experience in a production environment is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, team player with good communication abilities.
  • General affinity with IT & ERP systems and proficient with Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Driven, proactive, and positively oriented.
  • Ability to independently lead new (improvement) projects and motivate colleagues towards achieving the end goal.
  • Native Dutch speaker with knowledge of French and English.
